Leesburg Mayor Helps St. Paul’s Celebrate Catholic Schools Week

On February 1, 2012, the mayor of Leesburg, Sanna Henderson, visited St. Paul’s in celebration of Catholic Schools Week and the school’s 50th year.  She also proclaimed February 1 as St. Paul’s Catholic School Day.  She told the students that she was there when the school was built, and how great it is to see it continue to grow.  “It’s a great little school,” Mayor Henderson said.

The mayor’s proclamation also has special meaning for local area Catholics, because as one parishioner reminisced, “At one time, a Catholic church wasn’t allowed in the city of Leesburg.”
